The Bronx Whitestone / Verrazano Narrows Bridge rehabilitation contract is a $249 million MTA Bridges & Tunnel/TBTA project focused on essential bridge construction. This project includes the rehabilitation of suspension cables and a dehumidification initiative. The scope entails installing dehumidification systems designed to remove moisture from the bridge’s four main suspension cables, which helps minimize long-term corrosion and extends the life of these vital New York City bridges.

CAMECC was contracted to offer a wide range of project management services, including project planning and design, engineering review, constructability project schedule development, risk management and schedule analysis.
The project also consists of upgrades to power distribution, substation enhancements, and the replacement of backup emergency generators to ensure uninterrupted operation during power failures. This includes the installation of 5KV feeders, the replacement of the boiler system, roof upgrades at the service building, masonry repairs, and exterior door replacements. The comprehensive electrical and infrastructure upgrade contract, which supports the ongoing bridge construction efforts for New York City bridges, was completed in December 2025. It successfully modernized the power, controls, and critical facility buildings spanning these vital transportation links in New York City.
